Does anyone have any cute ideas about what they did when their 2nd child arrived?

Question by : Does anyone have any cute ideas about what they did when their 2nd child arrived?
So I already have a lil boy ( He’ll be 2 in July) and Im pregnant to have fraternal twins in January 2014. I want to do something special when they arrive to make him feel special. He’s been my lil buddy up until this point and I dont want him to think anything has changed. Any good tips, advice, or ideas welcome!!

Hi!!

Instead of a baby shower (or in addition to, lol) have a “big brother” party.

Things like receiving blankets, rattles, and bottles for baby, and books and puzzles for your “lil buddy” would be ideal gifts. /Even if you breastfeed/ you can let your little one help – once a day – with a bottle feeding. Make it his “big brother” job to bring you blankets, or to shake soft rattles for the baby while you’re doing housework (preferably in the same room). Books and puzzles can be a special “big boy study time” for him while you’re occupied with your newborn.

Check with your hospital ahead of time to see if they will allow your son in the room after you’ve delivered.

I told my older kids (when they were ever so young) that mommy was going to go to the hospital one day to make them a special gift – a brand new baby to love.

Ummm… can’t think lol.

Most important is to make sure, no matter how tired you may be, to spend some 1 on 1 time with your big guy every day. Even if it’s ten minutes of reading at bedtime – it’s his time. No interruptions.

Anyway…

Best of Luck~ *and congrats!!
